Meet our Teachers
Nash
I am originally from South Africa, but I have lived and traveled all around the world, and I now call Beautiful British Columbia, my home.
I started practicing Yoga after the birth of my son, and it was from this practice, I found my true love for Yoga. Yoga helped heal, strengthen, and renew my mind and body. Daily Yoga practice helped me face all the wonderful challenges of becoming a new mother, and also taught me how to become a healthier, loving, patient and kind parent. When I look back, into my past, I realize that Yoga has always been a big part of my life, since birth. My middle name, Santosha, actually is a Sanskrit word, meaning "contentment", and as a child I would always "Play Yoga" with different asanas like tree pose, crow pose and bridge pose, not realizing that it was an actual Yoga pose or asana.
I have studied with world-renowned and legendary yoga masters such as T.K.V. Desikachar, David Swenson, Shiva Rea, Dharma Mittra, Rainbeau Mars and more.
I started training Pilates after a serious accident, which helped me rebuild and rebalance muscle, strength & realign posture, while also promoting a lean & strong core!
I think of myself as a very adventurous and active person. Leading a healthy and active lifestyle is very important to me. One of my proudest accomplishments was competing in the 2007 Fame World Tour as a Fitness and Swimsuit Model. I look forward to competing again really soon!
Jackie
Jackie's passion for yoga began when she inadvertently stepped into a beginners' yoga class 3 months after she broke her wrist, while also recovering from a broken foot. She was blown away immediately by the power, strength, and physical challenge yoga brought her. She then started practising yoga with a simple goal of rehabilitating from her injury, and increasing her strength and flexibility. She was totally blown away again by the inner strength and equanimity she attained from simply staying present on the yoga mat. Jackie loves to explore various challenging yoga poses as a means to go further to her quest for freedom and enlightenment. Realizing how much yoga has affected her life in so many positive aspects, she decided to become a yoga teacher. Her goal is to cultivate a similar passion in her students' yoga practice and inspire them to open up and embrace yoga into their lives

Camille
From Olympian to yogi! Camille has been teaching yoga since 2003. At 18, Camille was the youngest Canadian sprinter to represent Canada at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. She joined her first track club at the age of 8, and still holds the BC High School record for the 400 m (53.66 s). After high school, Camille went on to receive a full athletic scholarship at UCLA, and continued running until 1996 when an anterior labral tear in her right hip halted her career. Left with both hip and ankle surgeries, her brother Eddison introduced her to hot yoga and after completing 60 classes in 60 consecutive days she became a hot yoga teacher in 2003. Camille has since completed her studies in Yoga Therapy with Leila Stuart and became a Certified Yoga Trainer in 2009 under the guidance of Sandra Sammartino. Camille enjoys teaching people how to find the freedom and spaciousness in their own bodies so that they can get a deeper sense of themselves.
Anna
I have been practicing yoga for over 9 years. Some of the kinds of yoga I have been practicing are Hot Yoga, Ashtanga, Power, Vinyasa, Anusara, Yin Yoga and Pranayama.
After many years of residing and practicing yoga in Whistler my family moved down to Port Moody. It was hard to leave an amazingly inspiring yoga studio Neoalpine Yoga and my teachers Kristin Campbell, Patrick Creelman and Stephen Thomas. While living in Port Moody I have taken my 200 Hour Teacher Training with YogaBC.
I have been very blessed to have had the great opportunity to have such amazing teachers. I now feel I am at a stage in my journey to start spreading more knowledge about the yoga lifestyle/philosophy.
The outdoors have always brought me inspiration, be it snowboarding an untouched line, practicing yoga or hiking to the top of a mountain. The skills and confidence gained from being in touch with nature always me to live my life with an open heart.
